Post by GoBackaTronI would not cry foul if the trailer breaks into pieces like Kingdom
Magnus. I don't think the MissingLink Convoy cab can handle that sort of
armor up conversion as is so I wouldn't be surprised if they retool the
cab a little. The trailer is definitely going to be a surprise whatever
they do.
I would assume at least part of the reason they're doing Ultra Magnus is
to be able to reuse the assets they already developed for Optimus Prime.
But, maybe the Missing Link versions of Prime and Magnus were designed
in tandem.
Ultra Magnus is one of the most brickish G1 toys, so for them to release
a fully poseable and articulated version of him would be utterly
amazing.
Post by GoBackaTronInteresting how early in the line they're diving into the movie
characters. Maybe they've got plans for the movie anniversary...
Well, 2026 is just around the corner, and that will mark the 40th
anniversary of the film. It would definitely be a good time to
commemorate the movie. I'm still predicting Missing Link Unicron.
Traditionally, it's seemed to me like Takara doesn't get really excited
about the movie. They've only done three characters from the film in
Masterpiece (Magnus, Hot Rod/Rodimus, and Arcee), and they never
bothered with bringing back most of the characters back when they were
doing G1 reissues (we just got Magnus, Galvatron, Hot Rod/Rodimus, Kup
and Wheelie, and that was it). Hasbro never used to get that excited
about the movie characters, either, so the fact that we had this huge
explosion of neo-G1 updates in recent years (even tackling unsung
characters like the Allicon and Quintesson Judge) was really surprising
to me.
I wouldn't hate Missing Link versions of Blurr and Kup and the rest of
the gang, but honestly I would rather see Masterpiece versions of them
instead, if I were given a choice.
Zob (Arcee might be only the beginning... imagine G1-styled toys for
every single female Autobot from "The Search for Alpha Trion"!)
