Post by SwivelbotSlingshot looks alright, though his wings are missing from his box
art... Hmmm.
So, in the cartoon, Slingshot's wings sort of fold up into this weird
assembly that just hangs off his back like he's wearing a tailcoat.
Assuming that these new Aerialbots are an attempt to create as much
fidelity to the cartoon designs as possible, it's likely his
transformation does something similar.
Post by SwivelbotSilverbolt's Fins are attached to his arms, which is going to look
weird.
Are you talking about the wings on the fronts of his shoulders? That's
part of his cartoon design. Those wings need to be there. (They may be
there just for looks, and might not factor into the jet mode at all.)
Post by SwivelbotAir Raid also looks good, noticing that the Aerialbots also get two
guns like the Stunticons did.
I don't hate it. Two guns are better than one. They're twice the fun.
Ask anyone!
Post by SwivelbotPrima is plain looking, hopefully he'll look better in full.
What I like about Prima is that he actually uses the cartoon head design
for the "Powerful Robot" seen in "Five Faces of Darkness" part 4:

I did not think that when I did model sheets for these guys and put them
online that they could, potentially, one day serve as reference models
for Hasbro to design toys. But here we are. (I'm not saying for sure
that they did. But they're online, so...)
Post by SwivelbotG2 Grimlock will obviously be excellent.
I read somewhere, just today, that G2 Slag and G2 Snarl are going to be
sold together in some kind of a two-pack. (I wouldn't hate getting
Sludge and Swoop in their planned-but-cancelled G2 colors as well. It
just doesn't feel right not to have the whole team.)
Post by SwivelbotAnd people are already mad that he follows the same style of
combination that Menasor does.
So here's the deal with Superion. If you look at his cartoon design,
both of his legs are one hundred percent identical to each other.
There's no way to achieve that with just Aerialbots, unless you bought
two Skydives and painted one of them. So, they kind of had to employ
SOME kind of cheatsy transformation in order to accomplish this.
What ends up being weird, though, is that Silverbolt gets... I don't
know, a drum set? Whatever that thing is that the extra Superion parts
transform into? We kind of knew that Silverbolt alone wasn't going to
have the bulk required for a proper Superion body. Even the G1 version
was awfully spindly and leggy. He's got L'Eggs and he knows how to use
them. Sheer energy L'Eggs.
Post by SwivelbotI don't think it's fair to judge the figure based on a single blurry
screengrab (Gotta be sure to take a picture OF your screen) but
Silverbolt's jet mode does look small.
There is another much less blurry screengrab out there.

Superion looks great. He's big and bulky, as he should be. No chicken
legs this time, like we got with the G1 toy. He's got the right chest
armor, with that weird U-shaped thingy on his chest. He's got his
gun-arm! So much attention to detail. Leaps and bounds better than the
Combiner Wars version.
With regards to Silverbolt's jet mode, I think what we're seeing is
perhaps the regular jet transformation that's docked at some sort of
fuel station or mini-airport. It's clear that assembly is detachable,
so the jet without being docked at the Leftover Parts Station probably
looks a lot better.
I really don't hate what we're seeing so far. It shows a lot of
promise. I know that people are already complaining, but at this point
I've just come to expect that. Haters gotta hate. Somebody on Reddit
said something about how nobody hates Star Wars like the Star Wars fans
do, and I'm beginning to think that's true of our fandom as well.
Nobody hates Transformers like Transformers fans.
I just hope they don't do something boneheaded and ruin one of the
Aerialbots, like making Skydive just a Fireflight toy with a different
head because they ran out of money. I mean, I don't necessarily *think*
they would do that, but they kind of have this habit of starting strong
and then finishing weak (SEE: Legacy Bombshell; SEE ALSO: Evolution
Breakdown).
Zob (still salty about Breakdown, if we're being honest)
